Testimony of Sister Hui Wei Chua

Good morning brothers and sisters in Christ. Today is an important day for me. So, it’s my pleasure for me to share my testimony with all of you.

Before I came to Adelaide, I couldn’t find the purpose for me to live in this world. Thus, I felt terrified and lost, especially during the period of my study in Singapore. But, somehow in GOD’s will, HE had sent me to Adelaide with Tabitha. She is a very precious friend that I’ll remember always because she is the friend that brought me to Christ. I really appreciate her company these few months.

Also, I will never forget all the other people in this church. During Easter Camp, the messages and the faith in everyone here touched my heart. I saw everyone praying so hard for their family and others who needed help, and the most touching thing was that I was not ostracized although l had a different religion from them. They came near me without a purpose but with a true heart.

When more people talked to me about Christianity, I started to change my mind and perspective towards Christianity. I understood that I’m a sinner and I decided to repent and confess my sins. Thus, I received Christ and submitted my life to Christ on 21st April 2006. I’ve found the meaning of me living in this world and now I can feel joy and happiness in me. I am happy and thank GOD that my parents and my sister have agreed with my conversion.

In future time, I will need to face my other relatives that might gossip about my conversion, but I will face them bravely and stay firm in my faith because I know that our precious LORD is with me ever since I’ve asked HIM to come into my life. HE will lead me and guide me for the rest of my life. Now as a child of GOD, I will serve HIM for the rest of my life and do my best to glorify HIS name.

Thank you.

Love,

Hui Wei Chua

Editor’s Note

Sister Hui Wei Chua was Baptised on The Lord’s Day, 13th August, 2006.

Sister Hui Wei arrived in Adelaide, Australia, from Singapore in April, 2006 for a 5-month study placement with the University of Adelaide.  She was accompanied by friend and fellow classmate, Sister Tabitha Heah.

Prior to coming to Adelaide Sister Hui Wei was a Buddhist and had a negative impression of Christians. The Hopefuls had given a wonderful testimony of their faith and life in the Lord Jesus Christ and this had changed her attitude towards Christianity and Christians.

Sister Hui Wei returned to Singapore to complete her studies on Sunday, 20 August 2006.

Synopsis of  Sermon: “Used of God”

Throughout history, God has been using various people for various purposes. The ultimate aim is the salvation of the elect whom He has chosen. He has used people with different characters, personalities, qualifications and statuses in life who were willing to submit themselves wholly to the will of God.

All through the ages, God is looking for people with godly characters. He is looking for men and women with humble and contrite hearts, and who tremble at His Word.

It says in 2 Chronicles 16:9 – “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”  So God is looking for people with loyal hearts devoted to Him alone, whom He can use to manifest His strength and mighty power.

It says in 2Timothy 2:20-22 : “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” So God is looking for people who turn their backs to worldly allurements and purify themselves from all the filthiness of this sinful world in order that they may be readily available as instruments in the Hands of their Master, to do what He wants with them.

So let us separate ourselves from all worldly attachments, flee away from the lusts of the flesh, follow after righteousness and holiness and consecrate ourselves wholly to be used by God.

It really does not matter who you are, whether male or female,  young or old, an ordinary labourer or the chief executive officer, God can make use of you in whatever situation you are in for His purpose. He can use you to bring healing, comfort, restoration, repentance and revival and then finally to bring all His chosen ones into His Kingdom where they will enjoy Him for ever and where God and man will have continual Fellowship with each other for all eternity. That is the purpose for which He created us.

If we do not allow ourselves to be used by God, remember that the Sovereign God can use any other thing for his purpose. He can use a donkey if He wants to, just as he did in case of Balaam who went out to curse Israel. He had to be rebuked by a donkey to restrain his madness.  So let us not be out witted by a donkey.
